Reflection Post 4 (FINAL POST)

 Reflection: #4 (FINAL POST)                                                      Date: January 10, 2024


The Semester is up and now is my final progress post for this project!

I have done a lot since my last post. I have finished sewing my dress and made several side projects along with it!


I got most of my research from a family friend and the dress pattern. The person who helped me has a lot of knowledge in sewing and showed me how to use the sewing machine and how to hem and sew pieces of fabric together.



Something that went well during this time was creating and finishing my dress. Some challenges I encountered were when the thread got stuck in the machine, running out of thread, and sewing the curved parts of the dress.



The major change I made was starting to work on a sewing machine. I’m glad I did because the sewing process was so much easier and I finished so much sooner.



I don’t have any questions after this period.


Most of this time was spent sewing my dress and I believe this has been a huge success!


Since this was the last part of this project I don’t see the next steps and I don’t need to get anything.

Reflection Post 1

  Reflection: #1                                                                                      Date: October 19, 2023 Part 1 Since my last post, I have started my sewing journey!  I have learned how to stitch fabric. In this project, I used the running baste stitch and the blanket stitch. I got my research from Homedit , this article was by Brittney Smart. https://www.homedit.com/how-to-sew/#Blanket%20Stitch It shows you different basic stitches and goes into detail about each one.  Something that went well, I finished a project. I got the idea from Maya about creating something to hold my needles. A challenge I faced was cutting the fabric. I believe that the scissors I’m using aren’t sharp enough....
